Community comes together for first official "Turkey Trot"

The Lawrence County Tourism and Louisa Trail Town Committee held their first official "Turkey Trot" Thanksgiving morning in support of local community programs in need.

An "unofficial" Trot has taken place years prior, with around 20 participants. This year's event brought in over 60 runners.

Organizer, Wes Kingsmore said the event raised $580 for local backpack programs and a trunk load of food for food pantries.
