LC under level 3 snow emergency advisory


With at least 5 inches of snow on the ground currently around Lawrence County and additional snow still to fall, Lawrence County Emergency Management has issued a level three snow emergency for the evening, starting at 6 p.m.

At level three ONLY EMERGENCY TRAFFIC should be on the roadways. This includes emergency vehicles, emergency personnel. If you do not have an emergency, you should not be on the roads after 6 p.m. this evening.

Employers are being asked allow non-essential individuals to leave work early or not come in at all.

LC EMA will re-evaluate the road status early in the morning. Those found to be on a county road without an emergency situation, are subject to fine.

This does not include state roadways.

 

Due to worsening road conditions and more snow to fall, Lawrence County Emergency Management has issued a level two snow emergency for Lawrence County.

Road conditions are extremely hazardous due to snow and ice and essential travel ONLY is advised.

 

Lawrence County, Kentucky Emergency Management level 1 snow emergency for the county for Tuesday January 16, 2018 starting at 1 PM.

Roadway conditions are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow and are icy.

Cautious driving is advised if you must travel.

Authorities ask that if you can reschedule or delay any travel this afternoon and evening that you do so. Minor accidents are being reported and roads are likely to only become worse as more snow falls.

If conditions continue to worsen, LC EMA may elevate to a Level 2 Emergency.
