Adam Chaffins announces solo debut album and MAC show

Prestonsburg- Lawrence County native, Adam Chaffins is returning to his Eastern Kentucky roots for a show at Gearheart Auditorium on the Big Sandy Community and Technical College campus in Prestonsburg.

The concert, sponsored by the Mountain Arts Center, is in promotion of Chaffins’s upcoming debut album, “Some Things Won’t Last.”

Chaffins recorded the nine-track LP at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Nashville studios. The album features a spectrum of musical genres with an overall Americana feel. He co-produced the album with Ethan Ballinger (Lee Ann Womack, Aubrie Sellers, Andrew Combs) and Grammy Award-winning engineer, Brandon Bell (Zac Brown Band, The Wood Brothers, Sarah Jarosz.) Chaffins solo wrote seven tracks on the album and co-wrote “Who I Am” with award-winning artist, Jerry Salley. The album also features a cover of Keith Whitley’s hit “I’m Over You."

“Some Things Won’t Last” is scheduled for release in 2019, but Chaffins will have copies of the record available at his Prestonsburg show as a limited edition pre-sale.

Brittany Taylor, who is originally from Knott County, will be opening for Chaffins. Taylor is preparing for the release of her debut record in 2019, as well.

The show will take place Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
