Goble first-ever Bulldog to qualify for state golf tournament
Louisa- Hunter Goble first picked up a golf club at the age of three, when his father, Jeff, took him outside and showed him how to swing. In the 15 years since, he has been making a name for himself in the competitive golf community.
In fifth grade, Goble competed in one of his first tournaments, the Bulldog Invitational, at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Louisa. His team won the event and he placed seventh overall.
This year, Goble qualified for and competed in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association golf state tournament for the fifth straight year, making the cut for the final round. He is the only Lawrence County Bulldog to ever hold the accomplishment.
“It was an honor to make it to the state tournament five times in a row, and my goal at the beginning of the season was to make the cut,” Goble said. “To accomplish a set goal was a great way to finish my high school career.”
Goble is currently a senior at Lawrence County High School. He plans to continue his education and golf career at Eastern Kentucky University under the Professional Golfers’ Association Management Program.
