Adam Chaffins announces solo debut album

Nashville, TN — Celebrated songwriter and former member of The Deadly Gentlemen Adam Chaffins has announced his debut solo album, Some Things Won’t Last, available digitally via Tone Tree Music in 2019.. The nine-song full length marks the first new music from Chaffins since his time with alt-bluegrass bands Town Mountain and The Deadly Gentlemen.

Recorded at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Nashville studios, Some Things Won’t Last reveals an edgier side to Chaffins’ award-winning songwriting, honing in on biting lyricism wrapped in hooky, but not contrived, symphonic rock/pop arrangements. Chaffins’ crooning baritone vocal ties the record together, complemented by his virtuoso upright and electric bass playing.

Chaffins co-produced the album with Ethan Ballinger (Lee Ann Womack, Aubrie Sellers, Andrew Combs) and GRAMMY Award-winning engineer Brandon Bell (Zac Brown Band, The Wood Brothers, Sarah Jarosz). A talented class of musicians appears on the record, including Matty Alger, Ross Holmes, and Aubrie Sellers. Chaffins solo wrote seven of the album tracks and co-wrote “Who I Am” with the award-winning Jerry Salley. He also covers Keith Whitley’s hit “I’m Over You.”

Adam Chaffins has been supporting the upcoming release by opening shows across the country for Wheeler Walker Jr. as well as making appearances at famed songwriter institutions like Nashville’s Bluebird Café.
